The Daily Mail were the first to report on May 8 that Lee Dykes was one of the names at the top of Tottenham’s wishlist to replace Fabio Paratici, who had to resign from his role as managing director after his worldwide ban was upheld.
However, Alasdair Gold subsequently revealed via Football.London last week that the Brentford man was not a target for Spurs, instead naming AS Roma director Tiago Pinto and ex-Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Tim Steidten as two of the leading contenders.
Football Insider have now contradicted Gold’s claim, insisting that Dykes very much remains on Spurs’ radar, with the Lilywhites hierarchy alleged to have already spoken to him about the vacancy. The publication adds that Tottenham are facing competition from West Ham, who are said to be keen on bringing a new director in to improve their recruitment and are alleged to have identified the 39-year-old as a target.

Based on the various reports doing the rounds over the last week and a half, it does not seem like Tottenham have settled on their number one target for the sporting director role.
The club still appear to be in the process of speaking with various candidates regarding their vision.
